Reverend Milagro M. Garcia
Rev. Milagro Marcano de Garcia was born on October 24, 1954, in Bridgeport, CT to William Marcano
and Delfina Rios. She has a sister Evelyn Ibarrondo and a brother Rev. William Marcano Jr. Her
parents accepted the Lord in 1958 at the Good Shepherd Christian Church A/G and she accepted the
Lord as her personal Savior at the age of 13 and has not looked back. Good Shepherd was her
home church for about thirty three years.As she was growing in the Lord she worked in many different
areas of the church she sang on the weekly Radio Program El Es Rey, Also sang and toured with
Echoes of Salvation. After graduating from Stratford High School she took various training courses to
teach the children and the youth of the church like the Missionetts, Y’s and Royal Ranger. She
became the only woman to become a Sectional and District Leader for the Straight Arrows &
Buckaroos of the Royal Ranger’s in the Spanish Eastern District A/D. She
Directed the Rainbow Choir for the 4-6 year olds, as well as Co-Director of the Children’s Choir of the
church. She was also the Asst. Director of the CT Youth Choir Ministries. She married Manuel Garcia
of Bridgeport, CT on September 14, 1974. They are the proud parents of two sons Manuel Alfonso
living in Florida and Simon Pedro, who is married to Florence Diane Sharp and they have a daughter
Alyssa Ann. While raising her sons pastor went to the Spanish Eastern Bible Institute of the
Assemblies of God where she completed three years of studies in Theology and Christian Education
she graduated on June 23, 1978. During her break from her theological studies she went to
Housatonic Community College to take Early Childhood classes and taught Kindergarten at Zion
Lutheran School where she substituted for three years and taught for seven years. For 18 years she
worked at Harding High School, Medical Careers Magnet Program as a bilingual aide, took the
students to the hospitals and was the Advisor for Skills USA. She went back and received her fourth
year course of Study diploma in Christian Ministry and Theology with the A/G, graduated on June 10,
1989. During the following years with the Spanish Eastern District of the Assembly of God she
became a Certified Minister, July 17, 1992. Also on July 10, 1998 she became a License Minister.
She then began to teach in the Bible Institute of the A/G., three years in New Haven, two and a half
years in Waterbury and she went back to teach at the English Bible Institute in West Haven, for years.
She is currently teaching in the Spanish Bible Insitute A/G in Bridgeport in Ash Street branch. On July
12, 1998 alongside her husband they became Co-Pastors of Mission Good Shepherd Church, Inc.
A/G located in Milford, CT. She had to stop teaching the Word of God in 2000 because of cancer but
the Lord
